Combined anterior horn cell and pyramidal tract syndrome

Causes

• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Clinical presentation

• Progressive flaccid weaknes with LMN signs, fasciculations and muscle atrophy
• Progressive spastic weaknes with UMN signs
• Any striated muscle may be affected except pelvic floor sphincters
• No sensory abnormalities
