Saphenous nerve entrapment
Causes
- Compression by fibrous band at the exit of the adductor canal.
- Compression by femoral vessels.
- Iatrogenic (eg. femoral thrombectomy, femoral-popliteal bypass surgery, popliteal aneurysm resection)
- Compression by nerve sheath tumor.
Symptoms & signs
- Pain, sensory deficit and paresthesias along the medial aspect of the knee and/or leg.
- No motor symptoms or signs.
