Lateral femoral cutaneous nerve lesions

Causes

  • Injury at lumbar plexus, posterior or anterior abdominal wall or near inguinal ring.
  • Overweight people are predisposed to this nerve injury.
  • Tight fitting clothes or belt might cause compression damage.

Symptoms & signs

  • Meralgia paresthetica: Pain, numbness and paresthesias in the anterolateral aspect of the thigh.
  • No motor symptoms or signs.
